Meet Our Principal

 

Mr. Murat Erarslan is honored to serve as the Founding Principal of TMSA Virtual School, where he is leading the development of an innovative learning community built on academic excellence, meaningful relationships, and student success. With more than two decades of experience spanning education and educational technology, he has served as a teacher,  coach, technology leader, curriculum director, principal, and educational software builder, bringing a unique blend of instructional leadership and technical expertise to virtual education.

Throughout his career, Mr. Murat, as his students call him, has been passionate about helping build outstanding schools. As a member of multiple founding teams for charter schools, he has played an integral role in launching new campuses, developing academic programs, implementing technology systems, hiring and mentoring staff, and fostering positive school cultures. These experiences have given him a deep appreciation for the opportunities and responsibilities that come with building a school from the ground up.

His work in educational technology further strengthened his belief that innovation should always serve students and teachers. Having helped develop student information systems used by schools nationwide, he understands both the promise and the responsibility of integrating technology into education. At TMSA Virtual School, he is committed to combining rigorous academics, personalized support, STEAM education, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence to prepare students for college, careers, and a rapidly changing world.

A resident of Apex, North Carolina, Mr. Murat is proud to serve the community he calls home. He and his wife are the parents of four children. His experiences as both an educator and a parent shape his commitment to creating a school where every student is known, challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

As TMSA Virtual School begins its journey, Mr. Murat looks forward to partnering with students, families, educators, and the broader community to build a school defined by curiosity, innovation, and excellence.
